Sarifundy’s Marina would like to welcome you to their little place at Spanish Water, one of the most protected bays in the Caribbean. Spanish Water is located at the south-east side of Curacao, one of 5 islands, which together form the Netherlands Antilles or Dutch West Indies.
The capital of Curacao is Willemstad, a town divided in two parts by the Anna Bay, of which the Eastern half is called Punda and the Western half Otrobanda.

Although customs will come over to Sarifun-dy’s and clear you in right on the spot, you do have to go over to immigration. Immigration, or rather the Harbour Police, are located in town, underneath the high bridge that connects the two parts of town.

It is possible to go to town by bus. The bus leaves from the other side of the bay, on the Caracasbaaiweg, about 10minutes before the odd hour.
You can safely leave your dinghy at the marina right opposite Sarifundy's Marina. The bus terminal in town is next to the post-office, within walking distance of immigration.

The local currency is the Antillean guilder (US-$1.00 = AFl1.75), but American dollars are also accepted. Four times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 10.00 a.m. a small bus will pick you up here and take you to the supermarket. Supermarkets, in general, are open from 9.00 a.m. until noon and from 2.00 p.m. until 6.00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Hardware stores keep the same hours, but are generally closed on Saturdays. Banks are open till 3.30 p.m. and do not close at noon.

Although we are only small, we try to offer as many services as possible. There is a phone and a fax, we fill gasbottles, there are cars for rent, a washer and a dryer are at your disposal and of course there is always a cold Am-stel, the local beer. For a complete list of our services, please have a look at our price-list. On the outside wall, next to the door, you will find a list, on which you mark down what you take next to your ship’s name. Once a week on Friday, we square up. Please don’t forget, as we can only allow a week’s credit. Ofcourse, it is also possible to pay cash.

The membership of Sarifundy’s is Af 4.00 pe-boat per week.

Each Saturday we have a barbecue, starting 7.00 p.m. Please bring your own meat and a dish to share. Drinks will be provided by Sarifundy's only.

The video night is on Tuesday, also starting at 7.00 p.m. Every Thursday there is Happy Hour, from 5.00 to 7.00 p.m. with reduced prices for drinks and snacks are on the house.

In the upright freezer there is space for reut on a weekly basis. Please do not use the other freezer. If there is anything you need such as bread, meat or ice, just ask at the desk and we'll be glad to serve you.

Outside the building are two taps for taking water. They are not meant for showering or handwashing. The showers are at the back on the building, next to the toilets.

The bookexchange works on the simple system of 1 for 1. You are also welcome to borrow books and bring them back later. About once every 4 weeks we organize a fleamarket, so you have a chance to get rid of all the stuff you don't really need.
For any repairs, electronic, sails, rigging etc please have a look at our advertisement board, or ask at the desk. As this is only a small place with lots of people using it, we ask for your cooperation both in considering your fellow-sailorand in keeping the place a bit tidy.
We would appreciateit ifin theMarina area you'd keep your pet on a leash.

PLEASE ANCHOR IN THE AREAS; INDICATED ON THE CHART. FOR WASTED OIL THERE ARE SPECIAL CONTAINERS IN THE BACK. THERE IS ALSO A GARBAGE-CONTAINER AT YOUR DISPOSEL. LET US PLEASE KEEP THE WATER CLEAN.

If you have questions of any kind, do not hesitate to ask. We may even know the right answer.
